As each year, The Eiffage Race of the Viaduct of Millau in Aveyron will have its guest-stars runners. Runners like you and me… almost! In 2018, the organization focuses on European athletes.
You may have the chance to meet - on the Millau viaduct – Corinne Herbreteau and Freddy Guimard, both marathon champions of France in 2017. And they both competed in the 2016 edition. Remember, Freddy Guimard came to complete the top three in 1h20’16’’ behind Hassan Chahdi (1h18’53’’) and Romain Courcières (1h19’20’’).
Same scenario on the side of the women. Overtaken by Aline Camboulives (1h29’48’’) and Laurane Picoche who won with a 1h28’16’’ lap, Corinne Herbreteau ended in 1h30’18’’. One might as well say that these both have a revenge to take on the event. At 30 years old, in 2016 Freddy became for the first time champion of France on 10 000 meters. Then, in 2017, he wins the marathon of the Sénart in 2h20’10’’ and becomes champion of France of this discipline. A distinction also won by Corinne Herbreteau the same year with a 2h38’05’’ lap. As a sign from heaven, they will be both at the departure of the Eiffage Race of the Millau Viaduct in Aveyron on Saturday, May 27th.
